PRESS RELEASE: Roseview Moves Sash Windows Forward Again – Literally
FOR RELEASE: IMMEDIATE
Well-known sash window manufacturer Roseview Windows has developed SashSlides, an enhanced form of corner protection designed specifically for sash windows.
The company states that SashSlides provide three key benefits to themselves and their customers. SashSlides make finished windows more stable when stood up. Moving windows around is easier, safer and quieter, and they offer better protection for the integrated cills inherent to sash windows.
Finished, glazed sash windows are difficult to handle because they’re heavy and tend to be larger than casements. Their frame depth makes them difficult to move around, and they have integrated cills that sit on the ground until the windows are fitted, requiring extra protection.
Roseview also says that SashSlides are more sustainable than the alternatives. Rather than standard single-use corner protectors, SashSlides are reusable multiple times. Roseview’s customers can return SashSlides to the company on their next delivery.
Explaining the reason behind developing SashSlides, Roseview director Tim Bygrave said:
“Some companies don’t use anything, but for years we’ve been attaching feet—or “skids”. They protect the bottom of the window when moving them around, but they affect the stability of windows standing on the floor. And our customers will be familiar with the screeching sound they make as you slide windows around!
“There was nothing available off-the-shelf, so we decided to solve the problem ourselves. We’ve developed several profiles and components that are bespoke to Roseview, so we’ve already got good design and manufacturing contacts that we work with. That allowed us to come up with SashSlides, which are custom designed to solve several problems at once.”
“We’ve already started using them.” Tim continues. “For such a seemingly simple thing, they make a huge difference. The windows are much more stable, they slide well in any direction and they give great protection to the bottom edge of the cill.”
Roseview’s managing director Richard Burrells comments:
“SashSlides are an example of small things making a big difference. They do exactly what we needed them to, and prove that innovation doesn’t have to be directly product related. SashSlides make life easier for us and our customers, and are another example of Roseview doing that little bit more.”
